Ten ways to fly private for less

Tick the habits that fit your trip. Each comes with a one-line reason and a typical saving, and the panel adds them up into a combined estimate.

The ten habits

Percentages are typical savings on the trip price when the habit applies. They are estimates, they overlap, and some depend on luck, such as an empty leg matching your dates.

How the estimate works

Why the savings do not simply add up

Two habits often save on the same cost. Choosing a smaller aircraft and flying it to a cheaper airport both cut the same flight-hour bill, so we combine the ranges multiplicatively, discount them for overlap and cap the result. The answer is a sensible range, not a promise.

The biggest single lever is nearly always the aircraft size. The second is positioning: where the aircraft starts, where it waits and how it gets home. Our blog walks through both with worked numbers.
